In this excursion to Porto, Nazaré, and Óbidos, we’ll see how the ancient buildings of these famous cities still area gateway to the past splendor.

Description

We’ll meet at the appointed time at number 8, Marquês de Pombal Square, where we’ll board a bus to leave Lisbon behind and embark on a tour of three of Portugal’s most visited cities.

Our first destination will be Óbidos, a charming medieval city surrounded by walls. We’ll take a walk along the Rua Dereita, and then we’ll stop in front of the Óbidos castle to admire its imposing facade. Did you know that it’s one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal?

After the guided tour of Óbidos, we’ll head over to Nazaré, popular as an important destination for surfers from all over the world. We’ll take a guided tour of this fishing village to see its most important sights, such as the Forte de São Miguel. In this building, it’s possible to admire up close the huge waves that break against the coast of Nazaré.

Then we’ll walk through O Sitio, one of the most famous neighbourhoods of Nazaré, where we’ll see a set of religious buildings visited by pilgrims from all over the world. We’ll climb to its highest part, where we’ll find medieval forts and basilicas from the 17th century.

Next, we’ll travel to Porto, where you’ll fall in love with its views of the Douro River and its six bridges. We’ll stroll through the historic centre, passing by the gardens of the Palácio de Cristal, the church of Carmen, the beautifully tiled Sao Bento train station, the church of San Francisco, and the famous Don Luis I Bridge.

After this guided tour of Porto, we’ll leave you an hour of free time so you can get some lunch. Finally, after twelve hours of sightseeing, we’ll return to the meeting point in the center of Lisbon, where we’ll conclude the activity.
